Fields of Blank is a monthly newsletter featuring writing, illustrations, diary entries, and photographs.

I like to think of “blank” as the beginning of everything. It is the moment before being overcome by senses, thoughts, dreams, and fears. I’m imagining a comfy cocoon of static white noise or an open window looking out over fields of nothing.

Traditionally “blank” refers to being bare, plain, and empty. A moment of no reaction. It can be an artist staring down the blank canvas, a student greeted with a blank sheet of paper, or a writer looking at the glow of the screen.

What if the blanks of expectation were really an invitation to stay present with the moment? What if there was a way to enter a blank field and simply focus on being?

My newsletter focuses on the collection of material found in the present and the past to weave together a written + visual meditation on creating and being. I’m collecting the little bits that float through to me from my timeline. Here you will find a collection of essays, diary entries, illustrations, lists, and questions with the purpose of creating a trail to follow through the blank landscape of the future. Here anything is possible as long as we choose to try.

By subscribing, you will receive a free letter 2-3 times a month in your inbox. Once a month, paid subscribers will also receive a monthly letter of bonus material which can at times include book reviews, downloadable coloring sheets, and additional activity pages. Think of your paid subscription as the coveted goody-bag at the end of a party.
